Often it really isn't just the specific milestone but how it came about and what they do with the activity that is important. Hope that helps. I am also working on the application. I was planning on attaching an addendum sheet, so glad to know others have done this.

I just know I will send it off and think of all the "intelligent" things I should have added. LOL Good luck on the go I was quite anxious applying, as a borderline person, too! Or rather, as a mom of someone I thought wasn't one of these extreme outliers I hear of. So I just wrote up everything that seemed to me either early or odd, and my son ended up getting in. I told stories, mostly of the "and then he did THIS crazy math thing in his head in the car" variety, and included some of his poetry and mentioned but didn't transcribe the Harry Potter book he outlined and started to write at 5.

I hope they accept your kiddo - and my next one, when we get there - but in either case they're clearly very bright with the needs of a very bright kid, and whether they fall on one side or the other of the arbitrary judgment call doesn't change who they are or the needs they have. I have a list of over books my son read last year from Oct 10 to May 30, which is most of his 2nd grade year. Most are the shorter. He would usally find a series and read all of them. When he ran out to books for the week he usally read his sister's 7 or 8 for the week, unless it had Dora the explore on it. | Andrew Clements

Is This good DYS stuff? Many are probally age level. I do think this is alot. Anybody want a copy of suggested readings for their boy? I'd definitely add that in your application. My DS5 doesn't care to read by himself yet, so the sheer quantity sounds amazing to me. And I would love a copy of suggested readings! We're always looking for things DS will enjoy.

Can you pm them? Hope your kids likes some of these. It's been a project finding books for my son.

He is very sensitive and doesn't like too scary. He doesn't want to read Harry potter or Goosbumps. Please preview they are right for your family. There may be a few I decided I didn't like content. I tried to delete all my dd6 books but may have missed some. I'm so thankful for the series. I wish some of the fun ones would write some more.
